Wow Lucinda, this is about the coolest birthday dedi anyone could ask for. You are so masterful at knowing just the type of dedication is perfect for your friends.

This is certainly my idea of how Chihuly glass should be seen! I love the close crop, the pov, the refractions of light. Gorgeous!! You're a woman after my own heart. :)

When I first saw this I thought it was a large glass gold fish swimming in his/her fish bowl. Upon second look I can see that this not true but it is funny how the mind can work. You did a fine job with this. The image is clear, sharp and not grainy in spite of the low lighting. Love the mellow tones in the glass, very relaxed scene.

Well I've been here an hour and 40 minutes, but---yes, I only did 4 images. But I have to stop right now to do other things: I'll be back before this commenting time is over (the next few weeks). But let me end with this for now. Another beautiful chihuly dedi, this one in more of a single family of hues rather than the symphony of many that you've captures in several other glass shots. Amazing how, close up (and with your pov), some of the light here seems almost painted on. And the 'conceit'---of two glass-like shapes surrounded by all that sweeping glass---feels like twin cities surrounded by lots of roadways in and out of the centers. And there's a kind of amorphous edge-light to the right and left sides, which makes it feel like the image is coming to us from an abyss. Well, that's no surprise, as Chihuly creates abysses as well as confluences in his work; but you intimate those abysses by your crop or pov: a big gaping center surrounded by sweeping emptiness. And the tone is a beautiful amber/peach-rust/brown. It's beautiful. A fine image to give to a friend on their birthday...It was really special coming back here to comment 'formally', but the thing that comes back from being here is how swelling and sensual your work is, and how, even when you do very formal and balanced shots, they still have these real powers in them which you find in all kinds of subjects. A truly powerful eye sits inside you. There were other images I wanted to comment on, but a number of them were actually in series, and I wasn't sure how to do this without doing fav's. I'll figure it out. But beautiful work once more; it's a real pleasure to be back here once again...
