Description
Close up of the Jewel dial up character. This is playing with the Alicia hair to maximum effect. It's not bad, but I have yet to own a hair model that doesn't turn into a lot of flat ribbons when zoomed in upon. I have seen a few that looked pretty amazing. So, I think the effect is possible if I can get the textures and shaders right.

I think it has more to do with the geometries of the hair model than with the texture. There are hairs where I can do what ever I want, I can not get rid of this ribbon like look. Others look amazing right out of the box. One of my all time favorite is the Leyton Hair, which came with the Victoria 7 bundle. my experience is, that hair models with a lot of thin strands look almost always better, than those with bigger/wider strands. Of course, the finer/more detailed the hair the bigger the load on the computer resources...
