There's always a story, isn't there?
Yes, Alex is a musician; that's what he does for a living besides managing the family estate. He's more of a studio musician and one that plays in small venues than any ambitious would-be rock god, and he plays both piano and guitar very well, both classical and rock.
Kerry (his oldest friend and bartender at Club Dante, where Alex plays) says he's the world's shyest performance artist. Then he asks, "Pooky, my darling, why do you screw up your face when you're performing?"
Alex: "Because I'm trying really hard not to screw up the music. Now go get me a damn beer. This is thirsty work."
Amazingly, Kerry does. It's true love, clearly.
