Description

Everyone, I think, knows this song, also how it goes further: "Over the hills and everywhere". It seemed to me appropriate for this 2nd Christmas Day. Wishing you all a lovely time, wherever you may find yourself. Thank you very much.

Very beautiful colors, lighting and atmosphere Mies.

Reminds me of the kizzillions of shoppers leaping back to the stores to return gifts and others joyously singing about the wonderful Boxing Day Sales.

I wonder if you've heard the Black Gospel versions of this song...because your image has a big fountain-like celebration, like the huge voices and shouting jubilations of a great Black Gospel choir. The song originated as an African-American spiritual, sung without instruments, and sung with great force and power. It is wonderful for Christmas, because it's about shouting joy from the mountaintops (of Christ's birth). Your image captures that spirit---you have a big mountain landscape, but you turned it into a huge fountain, with the earth flying up to the sky in glee. It's like the earth became 'liquid' all of a sudden, and jumped for joy. And the clouds meet the fountains with beautiful light-blues.

Also, considering that you posted this in December---when there's usually not much "green" around---this image is 'shouting' in greens and yellows, and other colors too. When this image went on RR, I couldn't comment, because it knocked me over, and I didn't know how to express what I felt. But now I can. Terrific image, Jacomina, and one of your best evocations of music-through-art in your whole gallery. I hope your holidays were blessed.
