Description

Alright kids! Gather round the old campfire....let me tell you a tale... A tale about old "One-eyed Pete" and his side kick patsy..... Done with a series of photos, sorry about the jiggle, (Unlike the lake Sunset) I didn't use a tripod. Happy Friday gang! ; )

Luv the animation Eric (and the thumb too). I think in this case, it is much more effective than a still photo. I can almost here the crackle of the firewood and the pop of the sap. Pretty darn good for not using a tripod! Okay, sorry, go on with your story! ... ;']

Nice work, Eric! Few things prettier and more mesmerizing than a campfire at night.

I see no jiggle - just a hypnotic everlasting fire. Smashing and different animation. Hope Pete and his Patsy lived happily ever after:-)))

YOU ARE SUCH A GENIOUS!!!!! It really does look like a videoclip than an animation. I agree with Kort, this sure is alot more effective than any still photo could ever be. Congratulations on blowing me away again Sir. #:O)

Actually the jiggle is quite neat, sorta like in Jurassic Park when the T-Rex is felt, but not seen...STOMP....STOMP...get the idea ? just love watching camp fires till they fade out ! great anim Eric Cheers

So seamless that it's hard to notice it's a loop unless you're expecting it. I guess you must have reduced the colour palette too, being a gif. Again, it's hard to notice. Skillful work... I don't know about Pete or Patsy, but I know one or two strange Japanese folk tales. Just right for this setting :-)

I think there is amazingly Little jiggle for having no tripod. Super anim, Eric! You timed the frames just right to make it look natural. Makes me want to go camping. Ah well, soon . . (btw, One Eyed Pete owes me $23! lol!)

Another one of your best, including the slight up and down blink, which adds rather than subtracts. Couldn't find your tripod in the dark ,eh? Hadn't realized it was that cold in Minnesopta at this time of year--already building fires to warm up the engine and all....

This will be a great summer replacement for the fireplace channel---it is absolutely true that in Vancouver BC during the Christmas Holidays...our cable channel puts a 24 hour a day fireplace on camera and shows it for the many who might not have a fireplace...well this beauty of an animation could well be the new season of progamming VERY Well done !!

i'm holding a marshmallow up, but it's not getting done very fast. Maybe I should use a CRT instead. love the technique!

this is brilliant, there is security in knowing the fire will never burn out.

What a cool idea. It actually looks more "seamless" than I would expect from the technique. Pretty steady even without a tripod I'd say. Brings to mind childhood camping trips. Shasta Soda. Marshmallows. Sunburn. Used to put bottles in the embers and in the morning the bottles would melt flat. "One-eyed Pete" was what I'd named my...well,um...I wasn't really afraid of it, Um..him.

I can hear the sounds of the campfire as well. Love the nostalgia. First summer ever without a campfire. Thanks so much. Gotta go shut off the smoke detector. LOL Enjoy your vacation. BJ
