Description

This photograph is taken from the Monte Corona, a 609 meters (1,998 ft) high extinct volcano on the Canary Island of Lanzarote. In the distance the white village of Ye is clearly visible. When you look closely, you will discover a white phone mast. It is not far away from another highlight of Lanzarote called Mirador del Rio. On the right the Atlantic Ocean is visible. This is the most Northern part of Lanzarote. The North looks quite differnt than the other regions. Less vulcanic activity has resulted in an 'older' landscape and because of that more life forms. For example a wide variety of trees in stead of one species.. the palm tree. .
