Description

Forever young A clean VUE render without postwork. Inspiration from Spring, and from a song called.. Forever young. Written and performed by the legendary danish troubadour, Kim Larsen. He was also the lead vocalist in the mythic danish rockband called, Gasolin. Here is the song if you wish to listen to it: Click here to listen to the song, Forever young. For the image: The worst part about creating the scene was to make 7 holes, in 7 different Victoria 4 characters, and plant a bonsai in each hole :) I had to download a piece of 3D model software called, Blender from blender.org to do it the easiest way(for me) Blender is free by the way, if anyone feel tempted to play with 3D modeling. There is also a lot of good tutorials on youtube, to learn how to use blender. Hmmm..what can i say.. blood tests on the local hospital tomorrow. Rene Magritte would probably say--- To be a surrealist, means barring from your mind, all remembrance of what you have seen, and being always on the lookout for what has never been... Rene Magritte Have a nice evening. And thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. I really appreciate it.

Lars, this really is a fun presentation that gave me a huge smile today. You're creativity is second to none, and this idea you came up with is just too cool. My first thought was it was almost like you had found a way to make their inner youth visible for all to see, as represented so well by the bonsai flowers. As for the Blender program, I couldn't agree more about how handy it is. I myself have used it over the years on a number of projects.

Very cool work Lars! love the expression on the old man...it's a cross of "I'm happy to be here!" and "Why am I sitting with a brown top hat and a cane, nude no less?" We, I, are/am praying for good results from the blood tests.

I hope the results of the bloodwork are good .. that all is going well. A totally bizarre and surreal scene .. it's like a weird dream! I'm not even going to try to interpret this dream, LOL! And yet there seems to be a certain joy, a certain serenity to this awesomely created scdene!

Wow---a great interpretation of that song, not just of its lyrics but of its upbeat feeling. And of spring too. The women dance as if in step with the music. And they're doing ballet steps! You must know some ballet, these are accurate. And I love the holes with the bonsais---a great concept (and those holes are so clean too). I can imagine it takes work to do all those, and model them to be at the right angles, etc. (And btw, I've worked with Blender in a few versions, and I almost lost my mind. As a 2D artist, I couldn't handle all the steps. So kudos.) They're dancing on a big smooth dance floor, the same color as them---love the shadows. This is one of those images where the ground is the same color as the sky, so we're kind of dancing in heaven... And in the center? A bit Stanley Holloway character (a British songster/actor, if you don't know the name). With top hat and cane, smiling away, and naked to boot! I think this is terrific, Lars, a great playful interpretation of the song and of spring. Terrific work! And all my best on your tests each week (including wednesday's): With everyone else, my prayers are with you. I'll be in touch very soon. (Your comments have been fantastic, I appreciate every one.) Wonderful work!

The problem with getting old - is the INSIDE still feels relatively young! Alas, the world gets younger around you while things on (and in) you start falling apart. Nice work Lars!
