Description

Greetings Folks, Remember I said Sally B flew a very lively display at Legends this year well, this has already been posted on DA and garnered some praise (bit shocked really), I kind of thought it looked good smoke and all, but what do you think.. No, I've no idea how I got the angle as she was at 500 feet and I was on he floor but, boy that works.. Taken at this years Flying legends from the side of the Gold Enclosure.. Finished with the obvious (no more credit now, you know I use it).. By the way you should see what it does to old Renders! Enjoy lots Rob

Great shot, Rob. That exact thing happened to my Dad's B-17. The story is long but he received a Distinguished Flying Cross for saving the crew and landing in the English Channel just a few miles short of land. On that very flight his radioman received the Medal of Honor for his heroics. I mention that because it was one of only 3 MOH's won by members of the Air Corp in the European theater during WWII.

Eeeek! This gives me chills. The flames under the wing. I don't know how they did this, but I'm worried about the plane and crew's safety. And so MANY times this occurred during WWII. Was it 75% losses they suffered? Poor blokes, stuck in a "sardine tin" if this happened. The photo sure illustrates the danger they faced. Good job!

Great smoke postwork in this fine capture of the gallant B-17, limping home after a raid on the Third Reich, mate.

Fantastic capture! And certainly a moving tribute to the fallen. Gets me thinking, more displays should incorporate something like this.

This is a glorious shot of this beauty, Rob! It would be hard to get a bad photo of a 17, but you really nailed it here, mate! Dang - If I didn't already have Photoshop CC, I'd check out that SM software - I remember them sending me an e-mail ad about it. You're really getting some good results with it!
