Description

I don't like to pile 2 dedis in one day, but as I have to be absent still, I want to get several posted. This is for a guy I assume most of you know---Dave (magnus073)---who just returned and who was one of the pillars of this place for a long time... Richard (Richardphotos) (another pillar here) let us know of Dave's return, with a loving dedi of his own. But any of us who knew Dave couldn't miss his avatar or his comments. This guy did dedis exclusively for years, and I mean he delved into deep stories of his subjects, he drew out very touching stories and personal histories, and he worked on them forever w/ those touching, beautiful images and his always deep and moving texts (which he translated into several languages, as if the rest weren't enough!)...all that while he ran a business, raised children, and cared for so many people in his life. All of you who go back with Dave know what I'm talking about. It wasn't surprising that he finally took a break, it just had to empty him, with all the other things he had to do in his life. Well I just wanted to welcome him back: However long you're here, Dave, and whatever you do while you're here, you're always loved and welcome here...and seeing you makes all your fans feel there's a lot more reason to rejoice. I hope you're well, old friend, and not too tired from life's blows, and I thank you for all you've given to so many. A great holiday to you and all your loved ones, and thanks for shining on us again!

This is a gorgeous photo, Mark, and I love the treatment you've given it! And what a wonderful dedication for Dave - it is sooooo good to see him back. I just about fell out of my chair a couple weeks or so ago when I saw his comment on one of my posts. He is truly a great guy, and I pray things have settled down for him, and will continue to get better and better.

Hoping maybe one day I can meet him in person - he's only a couple hours south of me.

It's good to see some of the old stalwarts trickling back to Rendo..

Love the crisp red in this waterside capture from your great city of Chicago Mark.

Sure is a great dedication for our friend Dave. It's been a few years since he's been gone. Glad to seem him back and hope all is well in his world. And keeping you in prayers Mark.

I was so happy and surprised when I saw a comment from Dave. My spirit just soared. This is a beautiful dedication to Dave and it is fitting for the journeys that he had entailed.

Mark, allow me to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for this thoughtful dedication. Also allow me to apologize to anyone reading this for my being gone so long. Like so many out there I went through a few rough years and sadly responded by pulling into my shell and leaving the people behind who showed love and friendship. I prayed for God to give me the strength to come back to the people who were like family to me, and if you would have me to be part of your community once again. There are so many like Richard and yourself who forever touched my life. I look now and see who much God blessed me by allowing me to get to know everyone here from Jane, Jean-Luc, Lucinda and countless others to those who are gone like Lars. People like that come around once in your lifetime, and time spent with them should be treasured. I was looking through my old dedications I created for friends years ago, and literally couldn't stop smiling and crying. Creating images for them was only a small part, the most important thing was getting to know them and their stories. Mark, thank you again for everything. Sorry to rattle on so long, but I do this when I'm exhausted. LOL Take care my brother,

                                         Dave

A wonderful dedication to Dave. The colors and textures in this image are lovely and the contrast of simple nature backed with the hard surfaces of the city are the perfect depiction of life and how we all have different things to deal with. I'm so glad Dave is back.

Despite your painful accident and recovery, an outstandingly magnificent quasi silhouetted presentation on this go around, Mark. The reflectivity and depth are a marvel to behold. How do you do this stuff??? It belongs in the Louvre. Dave should value it forever.

Nice capture with the Big City in the background and yet you have that area where you can enjoy the freedom of the water and park. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Aloha
