Description
We walked onto the towpath of the Grand Western Canal, at Tiverton in Devon, yesterday and were immediately greeted with this sight. This had to be a snatch shot, there was no time for anything else! Their wings made a beautiful sound as they passed by.
There might be more detail in zoom.

Fantastic capture. They have to fly over the water long enough to get enough altitude to clear the trees. We used to watch them take off from a pond in our park in Berlin. They went to the extreme end of the pond and began their take-off roll, I mean take off run, over the water before they get airborne and then headed for a gap in the trees where they could fly through. These here remind me of bombers taking off. Cool shot.

A super action capture and I can imagine the noise they made as they went by as they are such big birds. You certainly were quick acting to get this shot.
