Description

I know this isn't exactly my norm, but wanted to post something. Yesterday was a strange day for me. First this quote was sent to me: This Christmas, celebrate the season as though it were your last. One day, you'll be right. ~ Kathleen M. Carroll (A Catholic Christmas) Good advice, but especially poignant in light of the call I got shortly afterwards. My doctor was letting me know that the results of my ultrasound was not good.. that I most likely have cancer. So I have a hard road ahead. Then later I was offered a job to illustrate for a game company. I don't know if this can even happen, but at the very least, it got me to reinstall some stuff and I hope to produce some images, even if just for fun. (I certainly could use some fun)

I saw in my events that you posted an image, so I came to have a look. Reading the quote, I knew something was wrong. Sandy, I am so sorry to read about the bad news you received. When it comes to creativity, nothing should be considered as normal. Think of it as exploring a different path that was always there.

That news is not what you wanted to hear especially now when you have some art work lined up, but I hope your journey through this time will have a positive outcome. My thoughts will be with you as you battle this and I hope you can still have a good christmas with your family. I love this little floral fractal you have created too.

your beautiful art has simple subtle tones, beautifully articulated and gently conceived, and the violet tones are beautiful against all that green. A beautiful 'mandala' of art, and a loving gift for all of us. I'm so sorry to hear about your medical report, I know you must be discouraged. But remember all the people who've had those diagnoses and got through them and shined. My prayers and meditations are with you, you've gone through a great deal and have been a beacon to many of us while you went through it. May the powers in this universe shower light and healing on you, as you deserve it, Sandy. I'll be thinking of you...and thank you so much for this beautiful gift. It's so simple, so painterly, and so beautiful. Many blessings your way. (And congratulations on your job! I hope you can do many creative things with it. Much strength to you, Sandy, from all quarters...)

A fantastic fractal, such a beautiful flower. I like the colors. I wish for you that the result from the ultrasound is wrong. It must be examined in more detail with X-rays or CT, only then they will know it exactly. But even a cancer diagnosis is not the end. You'll still see lots of Christmas. All my best wishes to you.

Sandy, I am so sorry to hear this news. As a person living with cancer, I know full well the flood of thoughts and emotions that come with such news. But remember the battle has yet to be joined, and you are strong. We shall all be rooting for you. I hope that you keep us informed of your progress. Hope you take the job with the game company. It will keep your mind occupied with creative, positive thoughts. Best of luck. I shall be praying for you.

A wonderful color combination and creation. I had the same results from my ultra sound but an X-ray and CATscan and I was clean of cancer. Prayers coming your way! Dana

I did not see this before, or know what the biopsy was for. I'm afraid I have been a bit behind on everything lately. I am glad the news you feared here did not come to pass. I hope you are doing well health wise now. Beautiful image! The soft colors and designs remind me of sand painting. I like the way the center flower stands out, the detailed lines near the center and the soft green variations on the petals. Lovely work!
