Description
Flaking, peeling and oxidation at its best.
Surprising what one will find in one's old folders; this beauty captured back on 4/12/11, early on an overcast morning, about a half mile from home.
Since then, the gate has been scraped, wire brushed and repainted. Not the best renovation in the world, but passable.

Fine image...lots of good textures and colours

It certainly looks as though it had been long overdue for such renovation. Good to hear it had been done. In some areas neighbors would have been complaining about property values with what they'd likely have considered an eye sore on their street. Nice catch and detail.

Amazing textures here with the peeling paint and rust beneath. Excellent shot, Harry!

This seems to be the day for textured paint shots.... well found and captured, Harry.

A great shot of rusty stuff. I love rusty stuff. This is a great shot, Harry :)

So they renovated this beauty---lol. Poor rust! It was beautiful while it lasted. I hope they said Kaddish for the poor bastard...
A real beaut, Harry. Real land mass and water-feel (like an aerial shot of a big delta or inlet against an ocean). Love the cracked peeling paint---zoom's a must---and the deep reds of the rust (the blank wall's cool too). Another of your closeups of decay, which is always worthy of art. And, with Helle, I'm a fan of decay too. Helle hasn't posted too much decay of late, but her earlier gallery had lots of it. It's natural that she'd take to yours. And of course kudos on your eye for finding these sights in the first place, in addition to capturing and postworking them so carefully. Love this shot. Great to see the subject material back in your gallery. It actually provides "another view of metal," after your sweeping swooping car shots...
