Description

This was a quick attempt to do a realistic Moon using the new Normal Mapping features of Lightwave 9. For realism I should probably tone down the strength of the normal map a bit, but I like the way this makes the craters really pop out. The full size zoomed image is rather large, so you can really see the detail in those crater walls.

didn't get my 9 yet...but this, as simple as it is, looks great!

You are right Petes - it's good when you try a simple new feature, and the results impress!

Very nice, Ill have to give the new normal mapping features a go. This needs a space scene to go with it :)

Very nice image but, I wonder if the terminator would be that sharp or would it just blend in until completely dark. Cheers, David

Agree with BamBam...the terminator looks a little sharp, particularly near the bottom of the image. Great work, btw!
