" Will those ships fall like the other ones ? " Tegrin asked.
Nima looked skywards, thought for a minute then shrugged her shoulders.
" Well ? "
" Why ? " Nima replied eventually... "are you bothered "..
" Because i would like to know what is in there...or at least have a look inside."
" Nothing but ghosts and empty stores according to Captain Nethro " said Nima.
She poked at the fire some more, smoke billowed high above the camp, the birds circled , drawn by the promise of carrion.
" According to Nethro, the stores were picked clean years ago...hummpppfff, way back when anyone knew or cared about how to get up there ", she glanced up once more, shivered, then pulled her shawl tighter around her shoulders.
Tegrin grew excited, it had been so long since he had heard anyone refer to Captain Nethro.
" go on " he said
" According to Nethro, the ships brought us all here. We left Earth to escape the Nova, 145 in all
were sent, the World was on the point of boiling off into space, save the species, find a new home before it was too late or some such rubbish the leaders and scientists had said...but only 5 got here..Nethro said the others had been lost in the crossing. He said the Light Drives had either blown up or the ships simply got lost.Half the life pods failed, that's why no one ever came down from No.2, they were all dead.Poorly built, cheap..get rid of the dead wood. Leave a pure race.
The last message he said he received was from Earth, pleading for us to return, there had been a mistake and nothing was actually wrong, it was all an error... then the Nova erupted."
Tegrin wished he had never asked.
"The last thing that Nethro said before he died was that we were to watch the lights on the fronts of the ships, one by one they will go dim, then go out, when that happens the ships will drop from the skies....fall of empires ".

Excellent image. Great landscape and I like the ships. Very creative and sad backstory. It it were to really happen, I would imagine it going this way somehow. Nothing ever works quite right.

a fantastic work the ships the huge and vast mountains gives it an epic dimension. the storyline also comes good. thats about a bit my line of thinking some rich assholes are building ships to escape the apocalypse (which they themselves created of course) and only an "Elite" will be able to fly away . when i say Elite i mean only the ones with money will be able to enter the circle and us the plebs BOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
