Description
Sometimes the pressure of life just gets one down. Sometimes it takes a close friend to point out that you are looking so tired that it is a miracle that you are standing. Sometimes that is all that it takes for the pressure to flow away like clouds hit by a high wind.
Suddenly there is air fit to breathe, sights worth seeing and that feeling of community and well being with God which Danish philosopher and theologian Søren Kierkegaard spoke of as a silent serenity.
Playing about in Terragen came at the end of a horrendous fortnight, when my health and my will seemed on the edge of failing. But for a friend, inspired by concern, they might well have. For all you who have faced 'challenging times', may you know the respite from suffering and doubt that your Father in heaven gives to you. He never asks you to do more than you can - with His help.

Hey John of Glasgow ;) I have a sticker on my back door, written in my own handwriting. It's the last thing I see as I walk out of the house. It says, "I need to be thankful today because...." In life there is always someone much, much worse off than yourself. Two days ago 5 children died in a house fire less than 2 miles from where I live in Derby. It made the national headlines. There was no need to think hard that day. To be honest, there's no need to think that hard most days. The world is full of sht & going to sht but is still wonderful. There's always a reason to be thankful. Unfortunately it's easier... much easier... to see the bad than the good. Unless you develop a squint, that is ;) Render that!
