Description

No 14 in a series on film actresses... Saw the a sci-fi soap opera "Ex Machina" last night. Alicia Vikander plays a sensual and self-aware cyborg who lures a brilliant, but naive, Domhnall Gleeson into helping her escape from the remote lab where she was built. The little area of shattered glass and the surveillance camera are important plot elements. I decided that rather than spend hours and hours trying to precisely duplicate a reference photo, I would just get as close as possible with off-the-shelf props, morphs and images. Here's the reference photo: http://www.impawards.com/2015/ex_machina_ver4_xlg.html The cyborg-suit is the Bot Armor for G2F modified with surface shaders, and I think captures the sense of Alicia's CG-generated borg-body pretty well. For Alicia's face I used the MRL Callie character and tweaked the eyes, nose and mouth using G2F morphs. I could write an essay about the pros and cons of migrating V4 characters to G2F. In this case, I think it worked If I'd been willing to invest a few more hours, I probably could have made the nose and mouth virtually identical to Alicia's. But this works for me as it is. Your thoughts and comments are highly valued... Thanks for visiting...

Sometimes it's better to capture the essence of a person or a character rather than reproduce every exact detail of their likeness. You took the right approach here! I'm glad you did this render as a tribute to a most unusual science fiction story.
