Description

Captured 1/17/11 @ 7:52 am, somewhere within the vast perimeter of the neighborhood. I'm currently displaying a lot of old pictures because my regular photography jaunts are now highly restricted due to a very bad back problem. The spirit is willing, but that's about it; I snap them when and where I can. Ciao.

It is the littlest things that often time make the biggest impression. Keep 'em coming. Sorry to hear about your back!

And in their dreams they are trees! Take time to heal, and don't push yourself too soon!

OH! Even a little dandelion you didnt miss. Well seen and captured. Sometimes the shadows look even better :-) Gee! I do hope your back pains will vanish very soon. Absolutely not what you need at all.

With Denise, yes, in their dreams they are trees (the dandelions, that is). And, with Helle, yes: You didn't even miss a little dandelion. Ie, in your choice of subjects most of us would pass by. I'm at 2 hours now, and I only did 14 pieces---one of my "slow" sessions (7 pieces per hour). Some days I just can't write small comments. This is a great place to end, though, not only because you captured the lowly dandelion, but because you made a wonderful abstract out of it all. It's a terrific geometric study, and a study of light and shadow too.

I love that the dandelions---the "stars" of the piece---are in one corner of the piece. Their shadows are the stars, looming into that flat slab of concrete, with that wonderful early light doing its thing...And then you have the chunk of whatever-it-is in the lower right: Some stuff wrapped in plastic? A wonderful accent. But then, there's the 'abstractness' of it all: Composed like a 1980's abstract, you have rectangles of varying sizes, each with its own textures and light. A wonderful abstract and real-life capture, with the dandelions capturing the "lion's" share of the light (no pun intended), but with a lot of other visual activity around it. Love this shot. And the shadows draw the piece together, in the way they reach across the whole shot. I have to go now, but it's another great pleasure to be here. I hope your health gets better, Harry, and I'm sorry it's such an ongoing struggle for you. Not to mention the heat. Your art hasn't waned an ounce, through all this. I'll be back for more soon...a real pleasure, Harry. And I love this shot.
