Description

The Ford Tri-Motor has some neat looking aerodynamic features. The cockpit window is shaped like a bow, the flap controls are externally mounted, Each wing engine has oil pressure and some other gauges in the engine cowlings that can be monitored from the cabin. look like a cool plane to ride in. as for the de-iceing i guess it did not fly real high for ice to form but maybe in winter.

That corrugated metal is quite distinctive. I remember seeing another plane like that, but I believe the wings were lower, and you walked across part of the wing to get into the plane. I mentioned it to Bill, and he knew exactly what it was I'd seen before. I now have zero information about either plane, because it just doesn't stick! LOL! In one ear and out the other. However, it's very cool looking, and it's certainly visually memorable.

One of the first successful airliners and an all round cool looking plane. I've got a model of one on my shelf.
