Description

Finished this just in time for Samhain. I had gotten Al Dawson's tutorial from digitoils.com and he used the smudge tool in PSP. I decided to try my hand at it in Painter using some wonderful smudge brushes created by Don Seegmiller. I had a wonderful time painting them and wanted them as a backdrop for this image using Xena's wonderful Mayisha (available at PoserPros) and her dress. I am making a set of textures for the dress and this is one of them. Robin Wood graciously lent me her Athame model. I imported the pose into Cinema 4D from Poser and rendered it with a multi-pass saved to PSD to bring into Painter and Poser. Using the multi-pass and playing with the modes, I was able to bring out the bump map and get a real nice look to the dress and figure. I separated the body parts from the dress for more control. I then selected a color from the sky and did a color wash over the figure with a color layer in PS and knocked it back about 50%. I painted the foreground upon which I placed the figure and proceeded to paint the hair and scarf and correct things to composite things together. It was a lot of fun and I thank Xena for her great models, Robin for the Athame and Al Dawson for another new technique. And thank you for viewing.

Thank you, everyone, for your comments. I so enjoy hearing if people enjoy or even have a different perspective. You take the time to look and, for those of you here, to even comment. I am always so honored that people take the time with so many images to look at, to stop and take a glance at my offering. Thank you and all have a safe and happy Samhain, All Hallow's Eve and Halloween. Many sweets to you all.
