I know it's hard sometimes to see a dedi to someone who's private. Yet this person is dear to those of you who know her, and I wanted to do this for her, and hopefully it will mean something to all of you...
A dear friend, in a difficult time, lost her beloved dog this week. The dog had lived a long life, but suffered in the end, and finally left us.
Those of you who've had pets know that a pet can be a brother, sister and child all wrapped into one. And--sometimes--they become like a loving parent...they look after us as we look after them: They may do it without words, but they do it; and that's very, very dear...
I wanted to convey an altar---draping because it's mourning; but communicating light inside, a hope, an inner beauty. And the feelings that emerge in mourning---of how much we loved the one we lost, of how much light and love they gave us, and, in the end, a deep flood of touching and unlimited gratitude...
My condolences, dear friend, and may healing come to you, and never ever leave you
love, mark

Your art meant to be representative of an altar drape also reminds me of wax that has dripped from countless candles over a long, long time. Another form of remembrance dear to many of us. How apropos. You've set me thinking...all good thoughts for you and your friend. A lovely piece Mark. How thoughtful.

Stellar abstract, like the sun reflecting off the side of a huge melting ice sculpture, Mark. Sterling colors, patterns and textures adorn this poignant dedication to your friend in this time of loss.

Losing a beloved pet can be as traumatic as losing a child to some. This is a beautiful and sensitive dedication to your friend and I hope it will bring some comfort. The centerpiece reminds me of what some people say about moving toward the light. Hypnotic in a way.

I also see the dripping wax, as well as the draping, and tears falling like watercolour on the light of the sun...I'm also one who feels the loss of a pet so deeply. Animals are people too, and they give so much love. I cry for her loss.

DIspite I am having a break from RR, I need to be with you in this marvellous and beautiful dedication to our dear friend, who lost her sweet dog, who has been her true and faitful companion over many years. It is a bitterly sad loss, that is hitting our friend very hard. My thoughts and my heart are with her in these sad days.

This is like thick oils, layered on with a knife, so thick and textured and with such gravitas. Even knowing the end is near, it's such a difficult loss. Please give her my love, and tell her she is in my thoughts.

Mark, you are wonderfully succeeded in expressing compassion, encouragement, and consolation. Strength and courage, it is what radiates from this special artistic work. There's a lot of emotion and movement in this devotion for your friend. It also shows the various layers of sadness, but also the joy of light, which has so much appeal here. Too many layers of time zones, which are shared with a loving pet, too many layers of emotions, which are implicitly shared. It will require a lot of time to get used to that something precious is no longer palpable.
p.s. Sorry for my belated response to your wonderful work, my friend. But I'll be back as soon as possible.

Thank you very much Mark, for this extremely beautiful and sensitive image!I am sorry for being so late here, but has been hard for me to express what i feel when i see this image. You can see EVERYTHING here, specially when we lose a special kind of love! This image, Mark, for me, it's a long path through all the feelings and that works all the feelings till they heal- in this image,You walk through the pain, you pass by under a cascade of tears and you rest in a cave where you feels a great emptiness and also guilt because you think that you did bad or just didn't... but then, there, you are being bathed in such wonderful light that bit to bit, makes you find peace and all the remembrances comes into your heart as only good remembrances and love...and then, you are able to find peace and you feels the healing coming slowly in your direction! This, it is what your image told me, Mark. She is filled with compassion and important teachings and your words are precious and filled with love..
Indeed, our pets gives us a very special love. They don't ask...they give:) and they teach us patience and the inconditional love and even they let us know, by some signals, that is time to go....and it is what is so hard to accept! though, there is always a time when we finally we understand and we accept and we see that we owe them this great respect.
And i quote you, Mark: ''of how much we loved the one we lost, of how much light and love they gave us, and, in the end, a deep flood of touching and unlimited gratitude...'' ONLY YOU could do this, the way you did, Mark! The image it is masterful! The words are priceless! Thank you very much Mark!
