yes.sometimes woodpeckers are hard to get photos of..I know in the summer..there's one tapping away outside my bedroom window..early in the morning..lol don't need an alarm clock. beautiful shot

Wonderful shot! We have one that comes to our yard (I think it's the same one), and he doesn't seem to be afraid of us. We can get quite close to him.

Spectacular capture of the spectacular textures on both the elusive birdie and the tree bark, Maria! I was under the impression that woodpeckers had relatively long beaks. Love your background blurring which generates great contrasting.
