A few years ago, I had to have the big oak tree in my front yard taken out due to internal deterioration. The fly-by-night company I hired did a sloppy job removing the stump, then apparently dissolved. The company, not the stump...
The remnants of the stump are still there, but I'll probably have it taken out - properly this time! In the meantime it's a great place for all kinds of fungi to grow.
I came home from work the other day and saw these shelf mushrooms growing there, and thought I'd grab a few photos of them. By the time I came back out with my camera, this is what I saw! I got a couple photos of this delightful little lady.
After I took the photo, she gave me this sultry look and said, "Now, don't you wish you were my size? We could frolic in the grass for a while!" She winked, giggled, and off she flew.
Faeries.. They can be such little teases at times.
Hope everyone had a great Independence Day, Canada Day, or just a great weekend! I'm still working on a video of the fireworks from the air, and of course the next page in the T.N.A. series! And a few other surprises as well....

I totally agree about Faeries. I have one that lives in my virtual world who pretends she's human, or perhaps she is human and just thinks she's a faerie. No matter I love your photo and admire how well you blended her into the scene. By the way, I was born in July, If you are adding to your list. I'd be honored to be included.

This is marvelous! It is a great photo and the blending of the fairy into it is extremely well done. We spent the 4th at Rachel's with all 4 grandchildren in the pool. Other than a few sunburns, it was a great day.
