Description

My first render in Vue 8! I started this in 6 as an experiment to see if I could get good splash/wet effects. Unfortunately, my first attempts weren't so successful. I ended up buying Monsoon's Sea vue and as I was getting ready to buy Skinvue6 received a $100 dollar off deal to upgrade Vue. When I found out that 8 had metaseas, I decided to bite the bullet. While I'm not entirley convinced that the metasea dael is better than Monsoon's fix, which was to use terrains as water; I found the newer volumetric atmospheres did a much better job of keeping my spray effect. I did that with a combination of some Seavue objects and a metacloud layer I placed around the two creatures. Then I disabled anti-aliasing on them to keep that rough "particle" look. After all that work, I still ended up having to do some postwork for the drips etc., which I'm not entirely happy with. Anyway, here it is. I can't find the read me for the train and bridge which I acquired at ShareCG. It was a great model that only required a bit of scaling on the train and a bit of dirtying up textures for a more realistic look. As soon as I can find who did this model, I'll leave credit. In the meantime, if anybody knows who did it, please make mention of it or drop me a line so I can give due credit.

Shades of Ray Harryhousen! Great stuff. Keep pushing the envelope! You did good even if you're not satisfied with it.

Excellent composition. The boat and train serve to make those monsters of the deep look huge. I'm guessing the winner gets to lunch on the boat. ;)
