Every good pirate ship has a swabbie. Usually they're kidnapped from some port town, but in the case of our little Deedee, she was rescued from the clutches of Nocholus Victor Fast, a notorious villain. She doesn't speak, and generally avoids people, preferring to work in the bowels of the ship and stay out of the way. Each and every day, each member of the crew seeks her out so she doesn't withdraw too much. Letting her heal in her own way.
The Captain reads to her.
The First Mate shows her the finer uses of the blade.
The Cabin Girl chatters, sharing bawdy jokes and laughter
The Strong Arm gives hugs and encourages lazy naps.
The Engineer teaches the inner workings of machines
The Doctor teaches how to heal the body.
The Noble just sits in silence with a smile
This is the V4.2 character, Frangipani, and the old outfit Angie Lee. The wrench came from Renderosity as part of the "Steam Props" set. Backdrop is from Dm's "About Time" with the wheel provided by one of the clutter sets they gave away on Daz. "Nautical Whimsey"
The hair took shaders really well. It's the old "Paul Hair" for m4. It took a bit to figure out how exactly to get rid of this weird glossy effect that was going on, but I finally figured it out. It just looks really "right" on her.
Computer is back to doing inexplicable things. This scene is very simple and quite small, but it wanted to CPU render, and it *CRAWLED.* I think the super long render time of "Cyber Girl" has more to do with the glitch returning.
After a restart, a shut down, and a power cut to make sure the RAM emptied, I convinced it to GPU render.
Sadly, I've got my commission to render up this weekend, and I would like to get this sorted. I still don't know what fixed it last time. The commission piece isn't too bad - two G8 characters, an alley, clothes. And Distant Fog. Yeah... Fog. Oh, and puddles. That's a tough render even when everything is working perfectly fine!
Right now I got it working on a small 800 pixel tall sample for the client. I anticipate success with its' presentation, so I should be getting the computer started on the final tomorrow. Which will mean finding other things to do until it is done!
Thanks for looking, and as always, thanks for the feedback!

Super scene, but then I'd expect nothing less!
Good luck with your computer, stupid issues like that are a pain, ain't they?

This is a grand character. You gave her a that is easy to empathize with, Did her character prompt the back story, or was she created from the back story? Very nicely done.

Poor little damaged girl! You can see her fright and mistrust in her body language. I'm surprised you were able to get her picture. She must not have seen you or she would have run away! Wonderful works. Splendid character. Sorry to hear of your computer troubles. They can be such a pain till you figure out what is causing the issue(s). I wish you all the luck with all your endeavors! Have a great weekend! And thanks for the comment on the Yugo Trans Am race! LOL! That wolfenshire has a real sense of humor!

She's wonderful - I love her already! Sounds like she's well cared for and valued as part of the crew.
Most excellent work on her, bro!
Hope you are able to get the computer issues sorted - especially annoying when doing work for a client (not that I've done any for years..).
Thank you for your kindness.
Yeah, most annoying. Though last night's render, "Greta" was pretty quick. Which now makes me suspicious, lol. This is my first client - I don't think I'll make it a habit, but maybe from time to time? Supplementing my disability income would be nice.
Ain't no fun waiting around to be a millionaire...
Irony. I released a book this year and will make more from this one commission piece of render art than from the book. : (

lovelovelove this lighting -- not just the lighting itself, but the colours and the gradient they've put on her skin, and the shadow placement due to angle... killah!!
