Description

When we were in the Redwoods in May, we hiked through some of the most beautiful areas in the world. We crossed a bridge, and this is the view looking straight down. The water was so perfectly clear you can barely tell it's there. What a lovely place!

My initial reaction was that it was maybe a touch too dark, but it lightened up a little bit when I zoomed to full size & I saw that the darkness was essential to the mood & also serves to set off the subtle range of colors. Many of your photos take a little work to fully appreciate, but the effort is well worth it, Tara & I mean that very much as a compliment...

Mysterious and enticing! I think I might have had to have a paddle.

This is exquisite. I love the colors at the bottom of a brook. I will never forget being there myself. The redwoods are truly magnificent.

My oh my - you are still the best my friend! In full view one can really appreciate the beauty of the greens and different color stones. If it wasn't for the slight ripple (which add real interest to the image) one can easily think that it is just a ground shot. Most wonderful Hun!

all wonderful comments. I like Mike's "I can almost hear the water singing its beautiful song," and Claude's saying how it takes time to penetrate your work, and Carin's and everyone else's. Yes, zoom is essential (but it's essential in all art--the artist's intention): It shows how much subtle light you showed us. The ripple, ala Carin, reminds us that this is water, even though the water is invisible everywhere else with the exception of a few spots. Beautiful highlights on a few sections of stone. A private abode for stones which may have been there for ages. And everything else is darkness and ever-so-faint hints of greens, blues, reds, etc. A subtle inner world, left in mystery. It's beautiful.

Hi, Tara:) What a fabulous image again! I can ''feel'' the water more, than see it:) i know that it is there, by subtle signs of color and due a a smooth wavy motion. It is coming from the depths and arises as if it was a breath, but transforms into a swirl, like if being to the thumping rhythm of a music, its own music--as Mike said--Amazing! And the stones, beats by the light, showing incredible colors and surrounded by a greenish darkness ---it looks a 'treasure' suddenly found( and it is...)--- and all becomes so mysterious here:) This photo could be part of a tale:)!

This is truly a beautiful photo, Tara! Oh, how I'd love to be seeing this scene in person - I almost feel like I'm there with the clarity of this image, I love the dappled light on the stones in this wonderful clean brook.
