Description

Just a little fun at the car wash. A very big thank you to all who wished me a happy birthday, here and by email. It is wonderful to see all your beautiful images and read your words. I will be commenting on your posts, but I wanted to send out a big thank you! Once again, Texas has been in the news for having a bit of rain (and hail this time around). I've been fine and other than a few dings on my car, was fortunate during the storms. I did drive during a hailstorm one day which was a first for me. I looked around for shelter, but it was all taken and the sky looked brighter in the direction I was headed, so I just carried on. I saw on the news where some people parked on the highways under overpasses totally stopping traffic. I imagine the people stuck behind them in the open were not pleased. I wish everyone on wonderful summer!

Great capture. these car washes are fun to go through. It seems that Texas is getting its share of troubles lately. Glad you're okay.

Hi Lucinda! It's so great to see your work here again - a belated Happy Birthday by the way.

Okay, now it serves me right for not reading your description fully before make a comment. As I did not read the car wash part and assumed that this was a shot of the hail storm you mentioned. I had a couple of great lines like frozen popcorn, the roar of a hundred million marching bees and cars looking like kettle drums. But now I just have to admit that I do not know what I am talking about. Your photo really got my imagination going though.

I do empathize over the hail, I've driven through such mayhem a few times myself. And a big swarm of bugs once.

So very glad to hear from you again.

Cheers from Canada! Clayton

I love how you made this look like a painting as if paint brushes danced to create it. Glad you made it safely through the hailstorm and had a happy birthday

I'm getting so good at this its spooky. I read the title and before I saw the image I thought 'carwash'. What a creative idea and dynamite realization. Glad to hear you are keeping your head above water. I hope your birthday was a great one.

I just love this! I've never been in a car wash, but I might just be tempted if it offers photo ops like this!

Wow, you've turned an ordinary car wash into a beautiful Japanese-style abstract - great work...

Great comments, and maybe some of the people haven't had the privilege of seeing your work privately (in email), because this is pure Lucinda, through and through! I love the effects, it's like a big abstract expressionist painting of the 1980s, and it's exciting, whooshing and a blast. Also, great that you included the red on top, and the whites on the right---just as a painter would (but then, you're a painter). It's great to see you here. But take your time, it's gotta be a culture shock to walk into the big world of rr after a long absence. (It's hard for me after 2 months!) Even if you come by for a hello and a comment, it's great to see you again. Hope you're doing well, Lucinda, in and out; and that your sweet soul is feeling the song around you. I heard about your weather---heavy duty. We get hailstorms and tornadoes, just like you, but you have summer 2/3 of the year, which means more of the same. Stay safe, stay well, and come back anytime your muse tells you to: It's always a great pleasure to see you here!

...and i am imagining you, sitting at the steering wheel, with those big white cylindrical brushes in front of you, filled with detergent, rolling madly, while washing the car, with the water splashing everywhere! So boring !!! And through the windows almost nothing is seen, but bubbles and foam:) It is a solitary work in routine. But meanwhile, I imagine you thinking: ''you think that you will bored me:))? and you think that you are ugly?? hah!!! wait to see!!!''... and then:) you pull your camera !! And you transformed them into beautiful and colorful brushes. You transformed them in dancers...and in my mind, while i see this image and think in your work, arrives in my mind a magical tale similar to the ''Cinderella'' : the fairy that transforms the pumpkin in a golden coach and the girl became a beautiful ' princess' ... and i see this in this brushes, like if they went to a royal party:) even the drops of water became diamonds falling in the Windshield ! This, it is how i see you, Lucinda:) being able to transform the world around YOU into beauty... where all the tiny things worth to be seen and that have its own magic! AND YOU SEE THIS!! YOU DID MAGIC here, in the concept! And when i walk in your gallery, i always see magic in everything and i think of you as if you have a magic wand, that allows that you go through everything, winning your daily routine, enjoying the most you can, even if you are tired... I love this brushes, dancing in blue!!! I love the blue tones and the whites and it is stunning to me, how you transformed the view through the window. I love the bit of red, showing in top of the image! You created an abstract marvelous painting!! I am so, so glad to see you here, Lucinda:) I hope you had a wonderful birthday!! I am sorry about your weather....take care! and be so well as you are able!

How amazing this has turned out, as if you have taken a paintbrush and painted a great abstract. Well spotted and you have given it a great title. Lovely to see you posting and I hope you had a great birthday. 😀

This is pure magic for me - first of all, I would have squealed out loud, 😆 if I had to sit through this Lucinda, (it must have been an enormous lot of fun) - and then what an opportunity to create an abstract, it's right up my alley... simply a gorgeous creation and most unexpectedly I presume ?

I hope, you had a lovely day - cheers again 🍻
