Used Groboto to create the object, ported it to Hexagon, modified a few of the branches giving them some hooks that pointed up. Loaded into Poser, Draped a Cloak over it, giving the cloak a Hammered Gold shader, made sure the Displacement Map was turned on, and the dials were turned up. Rendering took a few tries, had to reduce the bucket size to 16, and wait about an hour.
