Description
This is a cover I created for a short story I wrote called Sergeant Miller. if you are interested, the story can be found at www.tagworld.com/calseeor or directly at www.calseeor.com in the stories section.
Sergeant Miller is an 8 page Twilight Zone sort of story that I had a lot of fun with, but I couldn't come up with a cover to save my life. Then, my good friend Stefan Bourque (www.darkwriter.com) came up with the idea of the mouth and army helmet, so that's what I did.
Posed and rendered in Poser 5 using the sketch setting.

Very nice use of poser (it's so unusual) and good compo. I don't know about the story (gonna have a look soon) but from I understand it's no horror (well, I don't really love army and it's an understatement).

Well Well. Long time no see. I will have to go and read the story before giving you a true critque on the cover design. A good cover design has to evoke a feeling or thought and does not always rely upon artistic skills alone. I could tell you now that it is very well drawn and very intriguing, nice placement and crop. This is enough to make me want to read the book thus deeming it sucessful. It would still be important to know the story though, to understand your approach to the concept. This would disclose your thinking and lay all the cards on the table for critique. Either way I like it. It definitly stimulates and evokes question that makes me want to know more. Very nice. Hope all is well. KP

army helmet? i thought it was a steak heheheheh long time no see dude! i see you've been keeping busy :) i like the sketch style on this one. maybe at some point i might even remember to remind myself to remember to read the story. if i don't though, rest assured that i liked the cover :)

Wonderful story. On the other hand, as a consequence of it, I had to miss a significant amount of class time.
