The fire at Notre Dame and Easter holidays inspired me to render this work. The idea behind this image is my assumption that medieval monks likely had to struggle to find meaning in some of the old texts. With a lifetime devoted to translating and interpreting the written word of God, this work might, at times, strengthen or challenge their faith. Hope you like it.
PS: I borrowed some of the staging I composed for this earlier work I posted: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/verbo-domini-dei/2838554/?p

I have no words to express my admiration...we all the time read comments like "superb", "fabulous", "extraordinary" and "gorgeous"...to be true I'm a bit tired of these words...I'd like to find something original...but no ! Let's go : it's a magnificent creation.
Absolutely glorious, from the soft, dusty colors to the perfectly composed and historically respectful scene. The monk figure and his cat are really well thought out, their poses and interaction with the background and lighting tell a slice of monastic life story that is well thought out and evidently close to the artist's heart. Bravo!
I am not a very religious person but I do like the concept of God, rather than being at all encompassing mighty overseer, is more of a friend. Reflected in the apparent friendship between the monk and the cat.
Beautifully rendered scene. Very thought inspiring.
