Infos in french in the first comment The abbey Sainte-Foy Conques is an abbey church that is intended for the reception of pilgrims It is a masterpiece of Romanesque art in the south of France. This abbey was built from 1041. Benedictine Abbey until 1537, it was then placed under the responsibility of secular canons. L'abbatiale Sainte-Foy de Conques est une église abbatiale qui a vocation à l'accueil des pèlerins C'est un chef-d'œuvre de l'art roman du sud de la France. Cette abbaye a été construite à partir de 1041.Abbaye bénédictine jusqu'en 1537, elle fut ensuite placée sous la responsabilités de chanoines séculiers. Elle est inscrite au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO au titre des chemins de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle en France depuis 1998. Infos Wikipedia

Non, je ne reçois pas non plus les "ebots" pour avertir des images postées par mes favoris, mais personnellement, je n'utilise que la page "Notifications" de mon compte pour suivre les posts. Il y a quelques temps, Rendo avait l'intention de supprimer les ebots, ils avaient renoncé, mais peut-être veulent-ils les supprimer maintenant...

Lovely. I always marvel at the stonework/brickwork of the centuries-old constructions in Europe. The abbey's scalloped roof tiles are beautiful. Here in the US few appreciate "age" and developers are always ready to tear down and rebuild...a shallow history for a shallow people...

On peut admirer sur ta photo l'architecture du choeur, des absidioles et du clocher de cette très ancienne abbaye.........un très beau cadrage pour cette magnifique prise de vue, Jean-Claude !
