Description
I am once again tinkering with methods to create comets and asteroids that are as close as possible to the images coming back from NASA and ESA visits to said objects. I feel like I'm getting closer each time I try.
This is 3 different angles on the same object. The 3D mesh was created in a program called "Sculptris", by the same people who produced "ZBrush". It's really a nice program for tinkering around, and I'm very pleased with what I've been able to do with it, so far.
Texture came partly from Photoshop, and partly from defaults within Bryce. The best thing I did was re-examine a tutorial on how you can actually use multiple elements within Bryce's texture-editing tools to get more complicated results. Not perfect, to be sure, but you gotta use the tools you have.
Final render was done in Bryce, and the starscape was created in Photoshop. Thanks for taking a look, and as always comments, suggestions, and critiques are always welcome.

I'd say you're right on target, Mike! These are looking very very close to the images on NASA's site. It would be difficult to tell the difference. Really excellent work on these!
