Description

"...and please make my daddy come home soon. I miss him a lot. Last year, on my birthday he wasn't here. It made me so sad. Next week is my birthday, he said he will be home soon and we will go to Disneyland. I'm so excited to see him again." How many are they, the young ones whose hopes is as big as the ocean, they waited just to find out the truth. Many of our loved ones, a father, a son, a brother or a mother, they never made it home. This I dedicate to those who are serving our country, the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for peace, and to those who are still in peril. To those who grieve, those who made it home but not as a whole. They were broken inside and out and still healing from the painful experience of being in a war-torn environment. Those who were at home, they suffer too. Families who will never see a father again and it will take a lot of time to the road of recovery. This girl is just one of too many... I'll leave the rest to your thoughts and feelings. "But through the cloud of tears I see the Father's smile and say well done And I imagine you Where you wanted most to be Seeing all your dreams come true 'Cause now you're home And now you're free." ~With Hope by Steven Curtis Chapman

I can't even place words for this... seeing the mother in the background literally broke my heart. I do not have a military family, but somehow I'm feeling that pain even as I say this. Maybe it's a spiritual thing, I'm not sure. To be able to communicate the emotion so that it's felt amongst others... that, friends, is true art.

I have to echo what Dave (Magnus073) said... Amazing work, and an extremely powerful image. Very touching and a great tribute to war's most unfortunate victims. This is one of your best.
