This photo is of the east wall of Colonial Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia. The town was founded in 1733. This is its oldest existing cemetery and used for 103 years between 1750-1853. There were 12,000 burials recorded here but only 700 markers exist today. The headstones mounted on the wall were knocked down over time and since no one knew where their actual plot was they were mounted on the wall years ago for preservation.
