The sky was leaden, the weather was miserable, the road was precipitous but we did get this big view of Crater Lake in the National Park by the same name.
Wiki note: Crater Lake is a caldera lake in the western United States, located in south-central Oregon. It is the main feature of Crater Lake National Park and is famous for its deep blue color and water clarity. The lake partly fills a nearly 2,148-foot (655 m)-deep caldera that was formed around 7,700 years ago by the collapse of the volcano Mount Mazama.

ok I'm doing ANOTHER pano. Stop the presses...This one is definitely FILLED with details. And it's beautiful. I don't know how you keep your perspective when shooting for a pano---I mean, keeping the overall view in mind, while taking the individual shots. This has an overall view. We really do feel the span of the water's boundaries. And the punctuation of the island on the left side and the jutting land in the right foreground gives real "beats" to the shot, big dramatic visual beats. They're wonderful. The water is captured with formations that look like the kinds of lines one would see from an aerial shot. And the trees, with their vertical "interruptions," do real justice to the horizontal sweep. And the bad weather only makes this moodier. A fine concoction, and a beautiful scene, and more seamless "joining" from you...
