Description

Branches and bedsheet modelled onto 45x60cm canvas with fine filler, overpainted in white acrylic. Same piece photographed with two light angles in the afternoon sun. A piece I started last Saturday, inspired by this digital creation I made three years ago. We've been without an internet connection for several days and I hadn't been able to upload this before, so I've been doing some colour paintwork on the branches since the point shown here. I'm still working on the colour with mixed feelings, but hope to finish it soon :-) Some detail shots from various angles: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 Thank you as always for viewing and your thoughts are much appreciated :-)

Thanks Christian! No negatives here - the light was the afternoon sun, and I took two shots, one of them with the canvas turned 180 degrees so the light would be from the opposite angle. Haven't considered diffusing as I quite like the hard edges, but if I took photos on a cloudy day it would turn out that way :-)

Given the title and "traditonal concept", it might be interesting to see this as a night shot with subtle lighting. ;D I really like the idea, and it is fun seeing the creativity and thinking that leads to your images Jim. Excellent work again! +V+

I remember when you created the inspiration for this piece, sharing with you how what you had created looked so much like Australia's unique trees, at that stage your visit felt like a distant dream. Seeing the sensual expressions you've created with a couple of eucalypt branches confirms our feelings that you'd find some great inspiration in the landscape here :) Thank you so much for everything you create and share hugest hugs & lots of love xxx
