Description

Just trying different render techniques in primitive old Bryce. I used soft shadows and true ambience. I wanted to use an hdri sky and I have a few, but nothing that fit this image. That sky is a few photos my girl friend took that I knitted togeather in photoshop. Went looking for hdri skies, and wow are they pricey! The cheapest I found that are really good are $39 per image. wtf! Anyways, I'm going to have to buy Vue 6 or Carrara when I get the chance. The textures are just about ready. They are set up in Poser, and I will do some poser renders soon. Just have to make icons for them. I even tried including things like refraction and sub surface scattering into the membranes, but doesn't look very good, so went instead with about a 10% trans with the trans map. Looks pretty nice. Anyways, thanks for looking. Texture used on my skywyrm is the Stripe collection, coming soon. Cheers Swidhelm

looks cool D! I found some free programs a while back that you can make your own HDRI images from any 2D image or render.... pretty simple process really. Let me know, I'll track them down for ya.

I have to say, this make an excellent background image... The rocks up the left side go nicely with my icons, and the rest provides excellent contrast :)
