Description

Last week end I decided I wanted to go somewhere just didn’t know where. O got up around 4:30 in the morning and just started driving north out of Sulphur Oklahoma. Tentatively heading for old route 66 and then east up to Miami Okla... As I crossed under I-40 that all changed, I turned around and found myself going east on I-40. Still didn’t know to where but I had some time before I had to make up my mind so I just drove. Went passed Lake Tenkiller, crossed that off the list, past Lake Eufaula, and crossed that off the list too. Crossed the Oklahoma, Arkansas state line and still wasn’t sure but the picture, pardon the pun, was getting clearer. There is a motel in Johnson Arkansas that looks pretty cool and I’ve been wanting to stay there so now I had a destination, tentatively, LOL. Heading north on I-540 I picked up the phone and called the motel chain I’m a member of and booked a room in Eureka Springs Arkansas. Not at all where I had decided to go, Johnson Ark., It was to be Euerka Springs, oh well I love it there so I set my sail for Rogers Ark. then highway 62 and finally Eureka springs. If you’ve never been there go, wonderful old historical downtown area with great shops and people outdoor music and restaurants and great food anything from the hoity toity fancy food to a great hamburger or hot dog I had a little of it all, not good for my diet but very good in ever other way. Seems like everyone I met had a smile on there face. It was Saturday afternoon and my plan was to leave Sunday morning, tentatively, I couldn’t pry myself out of there Sunday so I stayed until Monday afternoon. Had a great time even seen a couple that I knew from home, surprising and fun. Stepping out of the box just a bit I tried my hand at street photography. Found this gentleman playing his fettle on a park bench out side one of the shops. I watched the people walk by him and I wasn’t sure if they were even hearing him play, but he totally captivated me as I grabbed a few shots between sight seers. Always a great time each time I go there, I’m never ready to leave and always ready to go back. I think I’ll try more of this type of photography it was a lot of fun! Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you should care to leave! Thanks for the favs. on my last post!

Great shot. I love Eureka Springs. My favorite time still has to be the first time I went....On black friday. It was great with the city all lit up. Even the horse drawn carriage had lights on it. Awesome lil town.

Love how you've chosen to go b&w with this shot, giving color to just the violin. A wonderful capture, made even better by your enhancement. Thanks for stopping, you've a marvelous gallery!

I love this! I love the contradictory of a man with a long beard in a tee shirt playing the violin. Great capture and the black and white with the violin featured is a great touch! Well done.

Rosin on the bow and here we go! Because of the price of gasoline, out here in California you don't drive just for the fun of driving unless you're a millionaire. Anyway, great lighting effects in this black and white composition of the old timer playing his fiddle.
