Description

This is the Canyon trail at Tent Rock National Park! In places a person has to turn sideways to pass through the narrow path between the rock walls

Oh, my! And if 2 or more were to meet at that narrow spot? Sheesh! The photo sure gives a feeling of claustrophobia. That aside, nice image of stratification and shift in color of the light. Keep up the good work! :-)

A fantastic spot and a gorgeous capture. But when I look at this I can't help but think 'what if'. What if there is a downpour somewhere upstream from this canyon and there is a sudden flash flood - game over. I worked for more than 20 years in the field in Arizona, over most of the State, and finding remote places (it was a real challenge before GPS), getting there using available USGS quads (the latest incorporated information is 5 years old before they are published and some are only 15' instead of the newer and larger 7.5') and a compass, using aerial photography, and the know-how of how to drive a 4x4 when one is alone in the field, miles away from the nearest human habitation, is nothing like what one sees in the commercials or when the drugstore cowboy kids drive their jacked-up rigs up and down the main-drag. Getting caught in a canyon like this could happen to anyone, and often there is no escape route available. Having said all the above, this is a very beautiful capture, one most people will never see in their lives. Most of the above dribble has absolutely nothing to do with your beautiful picture. Seeing it makes me realize how how I miss working in the field and have a chance to see something like this!t
