Description
JS had disappeared for 24 hours. No signal, no clue as to where they were.
When it seemed a decent hour, Lady Behrr called on Eve.
"Fierce said she isn't in contact either with Maurr or JS. Maurr told us that between a captain and his ship there's a special telepathic relationship, and that you can communicate this way with JS and the ships. I came to get news."
Eve shook her head. "No, have any. Vickie and Etta, who being JS's daughter has a special relationship with him, and me we feel he's alive, but we cannot contact him, and this is quite odd."
"If the admiral hasn't boasted the destruction of RDS Glee or JS and Maurr's capture, it means that they are neither prisoners nor dead. I must say that we Rasharr are struck by JS's friendship and bravery and will remember him forever among our greatest heroes." Behrr said respectfully, but Vickie interjected:
"It's a bit early for an obituary notice! It's not the first time that JS gets to hell and returns, I am sure he's gonna do it again!"
After this visit Eve decided to convene a council of war meeting. With Maurr's and Puhrr's loss, the Rasharr felt actually beheaded, her S'skash felt bewildered, and she herself felt lost but she couldn't show it. JS was the column they had relied on, and his sudden disappearance was leaving them dismayed and unnerved.
Shortly before the meeting Vasquez, Roma and Ishikawa asked to see her.
"We can only imagine how you feel," said Vasquez on behalf of all the Eartheners, "but we are sure JS will come back. Hell, he is JS, he's more lives than a cat! Everybody here passed for such situations and we have come to support you. We talked a bit last night: the best thing is to stay here at the base and continue to train ourselves according to JS's plan. No one should know he disappeared, so better cut off all communication with the outside, by force if necessary. When JS returns, it will be here he will be looking for us. If our opinion is also yours, it's to you to submit it to the others: this will give more strength to you."
"Jay is alive, I know," Eve repeated once again. "I agree: in any predicament Jay is in, we have to buy him time to be back here, we have to wait for him here."
At the meeting everybody agreed. Later Eve went into Vickie's core hoping to establish a contact with JS.
When she went inside, the holograms of Vickie, Etta and Fierce were waiting for her.
"Jay told us it would be a good idea to create a holographic avatar of us" Vickie said, "I chose the blue, Etta the fuchsia and Fierce the green."
"Jay will be glad to see you. Do you have any idea of how we can get in touch with him and Maurr?" Eve asked.
"We thought about it, Eve. It isn't good that you connect physically to me, no one could get you out and Jay is aboard a metal ship. Therefore it's useless." Vickie said.
"Better if we mentally connect with you and Flotsam's family and try to send the strongest signal we can. Jay is somewhere just too far away to hear us individually." Fierce added.
"If he's somewhere in deep space, then I'll go to look for him!" Etta exclaimed.
"And where the hell you'll go to look for! Use your head for once, we have no idea where he came out!" Fierce replied.
"Oh, look who's talking! You're so cool minded that you were going to kill everybody at the battle against the Insectoids!" Etta retorted.
"Stop, please and take a pill!" Eve roared. "We stay here and we wait for Jay. Understood Etta?"
Etta nodded: "Aye, Aye!"
"No one has claimed the kidnapping of the dreams' ships, then our shot hit RDS Glee." Admiral said looking at the space from the Bloody Dawn bridge.
"Maybe they exploded in the hyperspace!" Nuhrr grinned jubilantly.
"We're out of the hyperspace!" Guhrr said.
"Position?" JS asked
"Unknown." Rohrr replied.
