Description
Seeing Maurr eager to go with his kinsmen for the last assault, JS suggested:
"It would be wise if you and your Blues lead the attack at the heart of the station: your authority will be established."
Maurr nodded: "And the jailbirds cannot claim the victory, right?"
JS merely grinned.
To show their victory, JS let off fireworks from the space station. The demo-people decided to glorify their job with a pyrotechnical show where the GHOUL crest was blown up by the liberation army's colours.
"Good job, S-Rita!" JS praised.
Every Shundorian network was showing crowds screaming for joy put down by the puppet government's elite regiments and GHOUL teams.
"From our intel, a cargo ship will arrive at the space station in five days and take off again with a new load after fifteen days. Gentlemen, we have twenty days to take the ground base before the admiral sends a fleet to see what the fuck is happening here." JS said.
"They're attacking Bahrr, sir." an orderly woke Auhrr shaking him. The man was completely soaked and some rain drops dripped on Auhrr's face.
"Fucking rain!" a pissed off Auhrr got up and stood at the door of his HQ sangar.
Over the hill ridge the sky was ablaze.
JS had ordered to concentrate fire on Betty also using flash grenades and flares to deceive the enemy.
"The other strongholds must believe the attack is more violent than it actually is."
Auhrr wired: "Return fire, damn it!"
"It's what we're doing, but our shots are ineffective!" Betty's commander yelled. The screens were out, but his scream was very effective. "Permission to withdraw to Ehrr."
"Shut up! We're an offensive base, we've been built up for a kill." Auhrr growled. "If you aren't able to hit those bloody guns, shoot yourself in the head!"
Bang! A single pistol shot was the answer.
"Shit, he shot himself in the head!" the radio croaked.
"Who the hell is in charge of that Brothel, now?" Auhrr howled.
Silence.
"Ehrr on line, sir!"
"Auhrr, Bahrr's HQ blew up! they're razing her to the ground!" Nuhrr voice betrayed a sense of morbid despair. "There's half of our artillery there!"
"I must reach Ehrr before Nuhrr panics!" Auhrr thought and ordered his vehicle ready. For the first time he realized what a mistake it had been to build a series of strongholds separated one from another by a few miles. Now Inrr, where there was a third of their troops, was completely isolated and the enemy had dug trenches and sown mines everywhere.
"Ehrr is impossible to reach by land, sir. Better try the helo!" a captain suggested.
Suddenly the whole sky was lit as though by a flash of lightning, or better, a limitless hail of thunderbolts. As far as they could see flash followed flash all around.
"Bahrr's ammos are exploding!" Auhrr murmured, but suddenly he knew that it wasn't Betty's blowing up but Sea's barrage fire. The earth quaked while the howling, whizzing and screeching tore the air. The amount of incoming fire was rising steadily, shells and missiles ploughed among the GHOULs.
A salvo landed near where Auhrr and his staff were standing. Some threw themselves onto the ground, plunging into the mud.
"An officer doesn't lie down!" Auhrr called out sternly. At that very moment a bullet struck his XO's head, spitting bits of bone and brain on Auhrr's face.
JS's gunners went on firing in a way that made impossible to identify the launching point from the flight path, while snipers joined the show.
"Engage targets at will and don't be shy!" was JS's order.
Hell was unleashed and Gilda a target-rich environment.
JS's tanks were coming to Gilda, every muzzle blazing. A Rogue gunner was pumping out shell after shell. A missile shut him. Behind the advancing tanks, JS's troops were shooting their way.
Auhrr tore his rank insignia and jumped into a trench.
"I must get the jungle and Ehrr."
A tank crunched by at the edge of the trench. The walls, softened by the rain, collapsed burying him inexorably.

A special thank you to all and everyone who chose me as a favourite artist. Quite unexpectedly I'm on the chart this week. Thank you again! Thank you to all people who appreciated the previous picture! Thank you for viewing and drop a note if you like! For realism's sake I kept the Rogue Strongholds' names when the Rogues are speaking. Here are both versions of the names: Awr = Anna Bahrr = Betty Cuhr = Carla Dahr = Dee Ehrr = Emma Ghrr = Gilda Haur = Helen Ihrr = Inez As some have figured out Shundor battle took partial inspiration from a real battle. Even the different choice for the names of outposts male (those where you expect a tough fight) and female (soft situations) are inspired by authentic military traditions. If you like it, try to guess it. A story still alive and psychology! I am always impressed by the quality and often humor of your dialogues. Beautiful desciption of this military strategy had to allow any nation to win seats fortified cities say; Another great idea that small detail ced-out: rain. In fact your talent will be to make a weapon of destruction! How many pages your story today? I wanted to let you know that my idea of serving my cousins origins of French and Italian, I used a lot today! I appreciate much your turns of phrase Afterwords double conversion: ---- English> Italian and Italian ----> French! zn believe my sincere admiration to read such a space opera! BRAVO, BRAVISSIMO ... both feet! (laughs)
