For my non-Canadian readers, the Heritage Minutes are sort of like "The More You Know"...

Interesting. In my Bibliography of Edward Bulwer Lytton, I mention one of his speeches. He was a famous progressive MP in the 19th century as well as one of the most popular novelists of the century. He makes the point that the right to an education is as important in modern times as the right to keep and bear arms was in the past. In Victorian England it was illegal for police to be armed on their rounds but Englishmen could own any weapons they wanted. There was no gun control. The NRA was invented in England. In my Bibliography on Hunting and trapping you can find listed original accounts of Queen Victoria firing the opening shots in NRA events in England. http://www.amazon.com/Adventures-Google-Books-Hunting-Trapping-ebook/dp/B00CPGPLU6/ref=sr_1_30?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1416728459&sr=1-30&keywords=adventures+with+google+books
England got rid of crime through progressive programs which reduced poverty, increased employment, and sustained moral leadership by the Royal family. Leadership is important. Then, after it became a nation of clerks and shopkeepers, they outlawed guns in the early 20th century from fear of socialist or communist revolution. I suspect Canada sort of rotates in cultural orbit around England.

I would like to see a National Edible Underwear day. We could have a parade with flag poles proudly displaying the said underwear as we march through the city. And after we could have hayrides and a BBQ, and everyone can have brisket baskets of edible underwear and corn on the cob. It would be a glorious day.

An interesting thought. Are they sugar free? (I think R. L. needs to get out of the house for a while. )
