Description

This little critter was very busy building a home and didn't mind me sticking my camera up its nose! I am in a tad of trouble. On my recent travels, I took only my work laptop as I went to New York for work and then a short holiday in the UK. I have downloaded all the photos I took to the work laptop with the idea of just transferring them on a portable and then on my personal laptop when I get home. What I completely forgot was that anything we try and copy from our work laptops, are automatically encrypted and I need the same encryption software on my personal computer to make it work... *sigh* I'm working with my IT department now to assist me and as you can imagine - they are not thrilled in the least.

Yikes, I still wouldn't want to get that close. Excellent shot! I washed away two mud-dauber nests from the wall of my front porch the other week; luckily no adults were present, just some larva that got rinsed into the dirt. So far no rebuilding...

I put my pictures on dvd's just as soon as I can. even one never knows when a hard drive will go kaput! these creatures build so fast, but I do not allow them to build on my house. some do not know when to move on

Sharp, sharp, sharp. These are industrious little guys. I use long range wasp spray to knock 'em down.

What a cutie ! The holdfast is so small and looks so delicate but must be immensely strong. I can't believe all these otherwise lovely folk go around destroying nests! The only time I had to do that was when a queen wasp started one on the ceiling of my bedroom, which could have ended up housing hundreds in the colony. This lady looks fairly harmless to me. I do hope get your pics released! What a disaster!

Just tell the IT people that art must be served. A fascinating image. She must have been really focused on her house building to not notice you. So close and sharp and very cool.

Super shot of this little critter. I have never heard this could harm people. So why distroy the nest?

I hope they can really assist you Carin. It would be a heck of a loss for you if you lose all your pictures. Stunning capture Carin. God bless.

Ah, this is a clever photo of a smart critter, dear Carin; it looks such special seeing it by building it's home. Fingers crossed, as I hope the IT people did help you quick, and with pleasure!!!

Al - I did email myself a few but at 4MB each and over 300 images it may take a while, We are also limited at work with email size!

Great shot of the critter with a mission, Carin. Looks like some kind of wasp. If I got that close to it I would have armed myself with a flamethrower just in case it wasn't that tolerant of my presence. As for your IT, encryption and download problems, have you ever considered some flash drives for storage while traveling?
