Description
This is the church of St Gilbert of Sempringham in Brothertoft, Lincolnshire. All I know of it is that it was built here, in the Fens, in 1847. The church has agricultural land to the south and east and woodland to the north and west. The overgrown graveyard is reached by a long driveway from the main road and pastureland along side the driveway is grazed, surprisingly, by Scottish Highland cattle. There is very little in the way of adornments, but there is plenty of stained glass and it has a fine hammerbeam roof resting on corbels. The church looks very tiny from the main road, but it stands out beautifully from the dark green trees when the noonday sun catches the honey coloured stonework. The town of Boston (from where the Pilgrim Fathers sailed to America) is only 4 miles away.

Oh yes a very lovely collage ! But the first one is really the one that I prefere, a very good composition, and a so beautiful church in the middle of the Nature. Superb !
