Description

This are two shots from a fair I took recently where you can see both cart horse breeds in comparison. Those carts have the same size, although they have a different style and different casket sizes loaded. As you can see the Belgic Brabanter Horse is a lot smaller than the Shire Horse and different in color. Those Shires are the four I went for the ride with and the coachman is their owner. Both breads earn part of their hay through advertising for the breweries with their carts.

OHH, THey are wonderful both of them. I can almost smell them. How cosy :-) Thank you for these beautiful examples. Maybe the brewer horses from Dk were not that big after all... perhape it was because I was so little myself :-)

lol Helle, those cart horses are all very big and mighty, but the Shire is the biggest one and even I, who stands 1.80 m (5.9 foot)tall have to take a help to get up on their back, as their back is about 20 cm (7.9 inches)above my eyeline...lol

Whenever I have gone to Stampedes, my fave part was always the heavy horses.. that put on such a magnificent show. How lucky you are to have gotten to go for a ride :) Nice captures.
