Description

The Southern Boobook is found in mainland Australia, southern New Guinea, Timor and the Sunda Islands. It is usually found in eucalypt forests and woodlands and is the smallest owl in Australia measuring 10.5-14 inches (27-36 cm) in height. It feeds mostly on insects (particularly nocturnal beetles and moths), mice, and birds up to the size of a house sparrow. There are 11 subspecies of Southern Boobook which vary in coloration and location. There is also a similar species found in New Zealand called the "Ruru Morepoke" which has yellow eyes. Rendered in Poser 2014 with any postwork. Trees are from xFrog's Oceania series and the Boobook from my Songbird ReMix Owls2 set.

Nice! I like all your owls so far. Never heard of a Boobook before. So it goes around trying to scare others instead of asking who? (Bad joke, I know.)
