Description

I live on the edge Of Bleaker Street Where shadows and light Never meet And the sun gets stuck On building tops Where crows cry vainly And never stop My grass has grown Much too high Covering the curb That's never dry From oil specks Of dying cars That line the street Of the local bars And I hear the voices Of laughter in pitch Where corner meets corner At the traffic switch Crowds lingering uselessly I drown out the sounds Of their absurdity Here life happens Very fast As I watch children Go biking past And wonder if here They will remain To watch the street That will never change I live on the edge Of Bleaker Street Where life and death Often meet And it's hard to tell The difference in them Except Bleaker Street Has no dead end
