Description

The tall, elegant and gentle Shire is one of Britain's greatest traditions, used for all kinds of heavy haulage. Many are still pulling brewer's drays, though these days, often only at horse shows. Until my retirement, I painted pub signs, and as a result, my close ties to the brewing trade has given me a passion for these gentle giants. Quite often, I would paint the brewery's own horses on their signs.
