Not sure why lighting is a mystery to you as you did it very well here! I like that the first thing we see is sunlight coming into the room, and it takes a moment to spot Benson, slumped in the chair in the corner. Creative use of these assets!

Thanks. I spent hours on this. I wanted the emission light from the floor lamp (because it would have been on when he fell asleep the night before) but I also wanted strong enough light and shadow on the table and floor and didn't want the floor lamp light to dilute the shadow. And then Benson's face kept blurring, so I was perpetually revising (nyuck, nyuck) this. I was finally happy with this version. And lighting is a mystery, but I can be patient and dogged when I want a certain result.
