30 cents? I remember 27 cents! And that was after the price hike! :-) Thanks for driving me down memory lane. Great shot.

You have done very well with this one Frankie. I remember Fluid Drive...we used to laughingly refer to it as flushomatic. I drove one once...wouldn't beat many away from a stop light. Say, this shot kind of goes with the pilot's position in the DC-3 and the engineer's seat in the steam engine in my gallery. Keep 'em coming. Bill

Great capture of the old ways. I remember many times as a child, sitting behind the wheel of a 51 chevy in the barn pretending to drive. Our modern interiors sure look different. Fine work!

I had a 1948 Dodge (in the late 60's) with the Flathead 8 engine, fluid drive transmission , and what I found amazing real wood paneling on doors & dash. Tremendously heavy made of 10 gauge steel frame. Large interior, you could open both rear 'suicide' doors stoop and walk through and out, and trunk, I once snuck 5 friends into the drive-in movie in that trunk. Ah the days when things weren't so scarce.

Really an elegant dash on this oldie. Love the steering wheel and pushbuttons. You must have either very long arms or were sitting in the back seat for this cool capture, Frankie!

Great shot. My first car was a '50 Buick with a straight eight in Canada. Are we dating ourselves? I remember gas wars in Washington when the gas went down to 21 cents, and as a one striper (E-3) airman we waited one more day for the price to drop some more. The next day it was back up to 33 cents. In Jersey in '62 the cheapest gas was 25 cents
