Description

The following statement was issued by National Cemetery Administration Public Affairs Officer Jessica Schiefer. "The monument at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery was removed due to a regrettable misinterpretation of policy guidance regarding the acceptance of new monuments that depict weaponry. It has since been returned to its original location. VA will continue to honor Veterans and their families with final resting places in national shrines and with lasting tributes that commemorate their service and sacrifice to our Nation." In plain language, some petty bureaucrat decided to mis-use their position and power. I find it regrettable that this situation had to go to the extreme that it did. Thanks to all who cared enough took and especially to those of you who cared enough to comment.

In other words, some one finds guns to be scawy, and demanded it's removal. The low level government functionary, who's probably anti-gun, gladly obliged.

The battlefield cross traces its' history back to the civil war. It s placed by fellow soldiers as a sign of their respect for the individual's sacrifice. People who don't know what it is all about should find out the significance of the cross. As the legal community is so fond of saying, "Ignorance is no excuse,"

I don't expect the stupidity to stop. It is too deeply ingrained in the uncaring who expect the world to hand everything to them. They expect that they will have their way regardless of who or what they show no respect for.

Here I go on my soap box again. I hope you enjoyed the art and I thank you for your caring and respect for what the cross stands for. And now, back to our regularly scheduled renders.
